SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Padres will hold their annual FanFest today at Petco Park, giving fans the opportunity to meet players, manager Bud Black and the team's new owners; run the bases, participate in clinics, tour clubhouses and purchase tickets.
The free event begins at 8:30 a.m. for Padres Platinum, Gold and Blue members, and 10 a.m. for the general public.
More than two dozen Padre players are scheduled to participate, joined by alumni, broadcasters and members of the front office.
All-Star closer Huston Street will host a pitching clinic for children, while outfielder Cameron Maybin will run a session on batting.
Other players scheduled to participate include outfielders Chris Denorfia and Carlos Quentin, third baseman Chase Headley and pitcher Clayton Richard.
Owners Ron Fowler and Peter Seidler, executives Tom Garfinkel and Josh Byrnes, Black, players and broadcasters are also scheduled to appear at fan forums.
The Padres Foundation is also scheduled to hold its annual garage sale.
Proceeds from purchases of game-worn jerseys, batting helmets and other gear will benefit foundation programs.
Parking will be free in lots along Imperial Avenue on the southeast side of Petco Park and in the Padres Parkade at 10th Avenue and J Street.
FanFest comes three days before pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to the team's spring training site in Peoria, Ariz.
