San Francisco Giants right fielder Hunter Pence watches his two-run home run Tuesday during the first inning of Game 1 of the World Series in Kansas City, Mo.

Madison Bumgarner continued his dominant run through the playoffs, giving up just three hits and striking out five in seven innings Tuesday, as the San Francisco Giants clobbered the Kansas City Royals in Game 1 of the World Series.

With the win in Kansas City, the Giants claim home-field advantage.

A two-run home run by outfielder Hunter Pence staked the Giants to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, and that would be more than enough as the Royals managed nothing more than a solo home run catcher Salvador Perez in the seventh inning.
