Alison Mosshart of The Dead Weather. Not the best picture, but her hair was in her face the entire time so I share it only so you can see what she actually looked like that night.

One of Thievery Corporation's many collaborators. The critically-acclaimed DJ duo of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton can be seen in back behind the DJ booth. None of us were tall enough to actually get them!

M.I.A. dancer "White Boy" at Street Scene, 2009. He was wearing a Michael Jackson t-shirt, as were some of the band members. There was a photographer in the pit with me wearing a Michael Jackson head band. It was Michael Jackson's birthday on Saturday.

M.I.A. at Street Scene, 2009. I don't know how she could see any of the crowd with the sunglasses - she was performing at night!

Sharon Jones' heels and ankle bracelets. I love that Andy shot so many shoes - how did I not think of that? I mean, I'm certain I love shoes more than Andy. By the way, did you ever rock the ankle bracelet? I totally did back in the day.

I was so happy to discover this special moment from the Busta Rhymes set. I happened to snap just when this guy got clocked by the "It Might Get Loud" promotional beach ball. It's special moments like this that I long to capture for you, dear readers.

Another Street Scene comes to a close and though temps were blistering, the crowds seemed unfazed. I, for one, am exhausted. I worked those photo pits as best as I could, people, but let me tell you, it was HOT! Like, H to the O to the T, hot. And 20 competitive, stinky photographers jostling for a shot in a crowded photo pit all the while bumping up against muscle-bound Street Scene security is no chill day at a music fest.
I loved Public Enemy, and it's a good thing because they were a half hour late! Check out our pics of Flavor Flav. You can see close-ups of his jewelry and the inside of his tilted baseball cap, which still had the stickers marking his hat size and price tags. Nice!
For more photos, check out those taken by Kelly Davis from City Beat. She was everywhere (how'd she do it?) and got really good stuff.
Culture Lust writer Andy Trimlett did interviews with Girl Talk and Silversun Pickups so look forward to those posts coming this week. Besides Public Enemy, I thoroughly enjoyed Busta Rhymes (best crowd, too) and Thievery Corporation. I missed lots of bands because I could only go on Saturday. What did you all think? Who did you like best? I heard Conor Oberst was horrible and Sharon Jones was terrific.
What about Street Scene in general - did everything run smoothly for you? Long lines? Well organized? Chaos? Let us know what you thought of Street Scene, 2009!
