Of all the upcoming Marvel Comics films in the works, "Thor" (opening May 6) looks the most promising. Here's the latest trailer.
Marvel is prepping to do their "Avengers" film bringing together a bunch of their popular superheroes. But first each -- or almost each -- superhero needs a film of his own. So we have already had a pair of "Iron Man" films and then "Thor" and "Captain America" will open this year with "The Avengers" blasting into theaters in 2012. Here's the latest trailer for "Thor," which boasts Kenneth Branagh at the helm and Sir Anthony Hopkins in the cast.
Could be fun but I do think it's odd how Hollywood keeps turning to Brits to bring these American comic books and comic heroes to the screen. It's as if they feel that is the only way to lend legitimacy to the projects. In addition to the Brits on "Thor," we have English actors Andrew Garfield as Spidey and Henry Cavill as the new DC Comics Superman. Hmmm?
