Celebrating its fifth year on public television, the innovative concert series LIVE FROM THE ARTISTS DEN rolls out six brand-new episodes featuring Billboard-topping, Grammy-winning artists performing in intimate venues ranging from a historic theater in Los Angeles to a high-school gymnasium in Austin, Texas.
This season, nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow delivers a powerhouse performance in the ornate Grand Ballroom of The Plaza hotel in New York City. Crow tears through 18 songs, leading her six-piece band in a career-spanning set that includes her breakthrough hit, "All I Wanna Do," right up to her new single, "Callin' Me When I'm Lonely." Other acts include French superstars Phoenix ("Lisztomania"), singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles ("Gravity") and indie rockers Vampire Weekend ("A-Punk").
"Fitz & The Tantrums" - It was a sensation both familiar and brand new when Fitz & The Tantrums filmed a recent performance for public television’s concert series LIVE FROM THE ARTISTS DEN on February 5, 2014.
The show marked a return to their home base for the beloved Los Angeles band, in a truly incredibly venue—the breathtaking Spanish Gothic-style Theatre at Ace Hotel, formerly the United Artists movie palace, built in downtown Los Angeles in the 1920s under the hands-on direction of Mary Pickford.
Fitz & The Tantrums played its signature dance grooves -- blending classic soul and ’80s pop on such songs as the band's new single, “The Walker" -- and, as always, refused to let the invited audience of 900 even think about sitting down.
Their set list includes "Get Away," "Don’t Gotta Work It Out," "Break The Walls," "Breakin’ The Chains Of Love," "Spark," "House On Fire," "Fools Gold," "Out Of My League," "Last Raindrop," "6am," "L.O.V.," "MoneyGrabber" and "The Walker."
