Forty-one packages of marijuana worth an estimated $30,000 combined were discovered in the hydraulic arm of a tow truck attempting to pass through the San Ysidro Port of Entry over the past weekend, border officials announced today.
The discovery was made around 6 a.m. Saturday with the help of an imaging system and drug-sniffing dog, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
A 36-year-old driving the tow truck was taken into custody and booked into San Diego County Jail. He is a Mexican citizen and lives in Ensenada, according to CBP.
