Serra High Lock-Down Lifted

The lock-down at Serra High School was lifted at 9:35 a.m. today and students are returning to the Tierrasanta campus under supervision of San Diego Unified School District staff, school officials are reporting.

Notification went out to parents at 7:15 a.m. of the campus lock-down, caused by police activity following suspects stealing materials from a construction site on campus, the officials said.

There is no report on suspects being taken into custody, but police have finished their search of the canyon north of the campus. School officials say Serra parents and guardians are receiving a telephone message with instructions.
