Bob Toledo, the San Diego State offensive coordinator who was a head coach at UCLA and other schools, will retire following next week's Poinsettia Bowl, Aztecs head coach Rocky Long announced Tuesday.
Toledo, who is completing his second season calling plays at SDSU, said he wants to spend more time with his wife, who lives in Thousand Oaks, and family. He'll be 69 years old in March.
He was head coach at UCLA from 1996-2002, where his teams won 20 straight games at one point. He also had head coaching stints at Tulane, Pacific and UC Riverside.
Long did not reveal candidates for the position. The Aztecs play Navy on Dec. 23 at Qualcomm Stadium.
