Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected in parts of San Diego County again Monday as the latest in a series of Pacific storms moves into the region.
In a 24-hour period ending at 7 p.m. Sunday, some of the highest precipitation amounts collected by automated gauges were 2.06 inches of rainfall in northern Poway; 1.31 inches in Rancho Bernardo; .91 of an inch in San Pasqual; .82 of an inch at the San Diego Country Estates; .67 of an inch at the Ramona Airport and at Mt. Woodson in Alpine; and .64 of an inch in Kearny Mesa, according to preliminary National Weather Service data.
Another bout of rain is in the forecast through this evening as a Pacific low pressure system moves inland through northern Baja and Southern California, forecasters said.
"The best chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms will be in the mountains and foothills in the afternoon and evening," according to the weather service.
Forecasters said drier and warmer weather was expected to prevail Tuesday and Wednesday, but the next storm in the series would likely bring cooler weather and gusty winds to parts of the county on Thursday.
