And Nina Garin joins us, she is the KPBS Arts Calendar editor and producer. Thank you for being here. Hello. Tellis a part of the dance that is going to be taking part of the series. The engagement ring series is something that mala shock is doing to make modern dance more accessible. They are taking it out of the theater environment which can be intimidating and there during the shows in their own studios, so very intimate spaces. What can the audience inspect on the spot from this installment? There is going to be a dance that's choreographed right before your very eyes. They don't know anything. They don't have costumes or rehearsals, it will be choreographed right there with you watching. Will John mala shock be doing the choreography? He will be doing the choreography so you can watch a more. He was on KPBS Midday Edition recently. Here's what he said how audience can experience modern dance. I think people who aren't very familiar with dance company command in their sort of scared that there and I can understand what's going on. People don't do that with music, they command they let it wash over him, and they just experience at. You don't have to overthink it. That is my goal of when an audience comes in. Don't overthink it. And event number for the engagement ring series title entitled on the spot takes this weekend on Saturday. Ticket starts at 10 o'clock. Nina, and moving on there's a fashion show coming to San Diego this weekend but it is not your ordinary fashion show is it? Know it's a cat fashion show. And it is called the future is meow. Yes this is an event that is part of San Diego's current Art Institute to do and best in show. Basically that is art inspired by dogs and cats. So this is their latest event is a fashion show for humans and cats. Okay so there will be cats on the catwalk. If your Is the friendly cat yes but there is also an area for shy cats as well. They will be dressed up? Yes and there will be local designers that you can buy outfits for your cats. Does any of this go to a group? It does. Part of the proceeds will be going to the fore paws animal. This will take place at San Diego are Institute 6 PM to 8 PM on Saturday February Saturday, February 27. Admission is $10. If you love the Performing Arts in the beach, here is an event made for you. Nina tell us about the play San Diego I love you I love you not. That is the show put on by circle circle dot company it's known for doing site-specific shows. You will be going to ocean beach and watching a show about a couple. And you follow them around and the audience in this case gets to decide whether or not this couples these together or breaks up. Is it like to experience one of the site-specific place? Basically cut the audience a small for the specific play there are 10 people per group. You have a lot of walking to do, see if door some good shoes. The actors, it looks more like they are talking to you instead of that you. So you walk around and they do the show when you go to the next thought and the next spot. That sounds kind of cool. San Diego I love you runs through the 28th. Nina I think we just have time for you to tell us something about that you will not miss this weekend.
