Hannah Shaw is a kitten rescuer whose mission is to teach others how to rescue vulnerable kittens and nurse them to health.

For Hannah Shaw, it all started when she was a camp counselor more than 10 years ago. She spotted a tiny kitten in trouble and knew she had to act.

Her rescue of that feline led to her create "Kitten Lady," a project dedicated to rescuing vulnerable kittens and nursing them to health so they can be adopted.

In her new New York Times bestselling book, "Tiny But Mighty", Shaw outlines the dangers kitten face and what the average person can do to combat them.

She joined Midday Edition to talk about the needs of kittens and how humans can help make their lives happy and healthy.
