Court Extends Freeze on 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Injunction

Associated Press is reporting that a federal appeals court today indefinitely extended its freeze on a judge's order stopping enforcement of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the government's request for a stay while it challenges the trial court's ruling that the ban on openly gay and lesbian service members is unconstitutional. The same panel imposed a temporary hold keeping the policy place last week. Today's decision means gays and lesbians who disclose their sexual orientations still can't enlist in the military and can be kicked out.

In a statement just released by Servicemembers Legal Defense Network's, Army veteran and SLDN's executive director Aubrey Sarvis said:
