Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has activated 2,000 members of the National Guard in the wake of Wednesday's deadly tornado outbreak, according to the Stars and Stripes. Since activation, the Guard has been clearing roads of debris and providing those needing shelter with tarpaulins, as reported by DVIDS. Bentley said in a statement:
Media outlets like ABC News are reporting the latest death toll stands at more than 250 from the swarm of tornadoes that swept through the South. That number is expected to rise in the coming days.
