Two U.S. Marines killed on Friday when a team of insurgents attacked Camp Bastion in Afghanistan were based at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, according to the Yuma Sun.
The Department of Defense has identified them as Lt. Col. Christopher K. Raible, 40, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and Sgt. Bradley W. Atwell, 27, of Kokomo, Indiana.
The Marines were assigned to Marine Aircraft Group 13, based out of MCAS Yuma. The Marine Aircraft Group 13 is part of MCAS Miramar's 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing.
The insurgent attack on Camp Bastion also destroyed six Marine Corps Harrier fighter jets, according to the Pentagon Channel.
