Marine veteran Clyde Kellogg, 88, says he's devastated someone took the military medals he earned fighting in World War II from his Vista home.

Kellogg told San Diego television station Fox 5 he thinks he knows who stole the medals, and just wants them returned - no questioned asked.

Kellogg spent a year hospitalized after getting shot in the throat during the Battle of Guadalcanal and contracting malaria.

During his 21-year-long career in the Marines, he earned eight medals - including a Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Presidential Unit Citation, and the World War II victory medal.

Kellogg told 10News in San Diego:

"They meant the world to me."
