Flu Clinic Opens At Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton
Cmdr. Michael Danforth, head of the Family Medicine department and flu clinic director, explained the reason for the clinic:
“The flu has come early and fast this year. We’ve opened the clinic to get ahead of the illness and make treatment fast and easy for our beneficiaries.”
Now, the clinic isn't for getting flu shots or treating other illnesses. Only sickies with flu symptoms are encouraged to come in. Flu symptoms, according to the Centers for Disease Control, include:
-Fever or feeling feverish/chills (although not everyone with flu gets a fever)
-Runny or stuffy nose
-Muscle or body aches
-Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
