The U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program is sending five of its soldiers to go for the gold in the men's bobsled competition at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
The soldiers selected for the team are:
-Capt. Chris Fogt of Alpine, Utah
-Sgt. Justin Olsen of San Antonio, Texas
-Sgt. Nick Cunningham of Monterey, Calif.
-Sgt. Dallas Robinson of Georgetown, Ky.
-1st Lt. Michael Kohn of Columbia, SC
Robinson is the only athlete who hasn't competed in the Olympics before. Kohn will serve as Team USA assistant coach.
According to an Army news release:
They will be joined by former WCAP, bobsledder Steven Holcomb, the reigning Olympic champion driver in the four-man event.
Therefore, the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program had a hand in helping to produce about half of the U.S. Olympic men's bobsled squad.
The men's two-man bobsled competition is slated for Feb. 16-17...
The men's four-man bobsled competition will be one of the last events of the Olympic Games, set for Feb. 22-23.
