Fight Erupts over New Minnesota Bridge

Transportation officials in Minnesota have released the preliminary design of the new Interstate 35 West bridge, which will replace the bridge that collapsed, killing at least 11. They hope to get the entire project done by the end of 2008. That worries critics who say the state isn't taking a long-term view of the bridge.

Some want the bridge to include the possibility of light-rail transit, and others worry that safety could be compromised in the rush to get the bridge built.
