Helium Shortage Spikes Prices, Calls for U.S. Help

A worldwide shortage of helium has caused a spike in prices, rationing, and a lot of calls to the Bureau of Land Management, which runs the Federal Helium Reserve in Amarillo, Texas. The government has stockpiled helium for decades for use by NASA and the military. While there's enough to keep characters afloat for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade some smaller balloon operators are not so lucky.
