The San Diego Association of Government's executive director, Gary Gallegos, announced his retirement this week. It comes amid turmoil at the agency as the revenue forecasting scandal continues to unfold.
An investigation revealed that not only was SANDAG feeding incorrect information to the public, but that staff were encouraged to hide and delete official documents related to the controversy.

The Story
A small non-profit senior housing provider, San Diego Kind Corp., has been tasked with building 50 subsidized units on county land in Linda Vista. It is part of the county's new $25 million affordable housing development program. But the non-profit has not developed senior housing since 1989. And there were no competitive bids.
The non-profit was founded some 40 years ago by Mavourneen O'Connor, twin sister of former San Diego Mayor Maureen O'Connor. The sisters got support for the project from their friend, San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts.
