What's next for indicted San Diego Congressman Hunter
Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, and his wife were back in court on Monday. A federal judge set a Sept. 10, 2019, trial date for the couple who face federal felony charges for allegedly spending $250,000 of campaign money on personal expenses. Despite being under indictment, Hunter was re-elected to his seat in the 50th Congressional District in November.

Councilman Alvarez reflects on San Diego city politics
It's unclear what San Diego City Councilman David Alvarez will do after his eight years representing communities like Barrio Logan and San Ysidro. Alvarez, who is termed out of the council, ran for a seat on the board of the San Diego Community College District in November and lost. He's also toyed with running for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. In an exit interview with KPBS, Alvarez talks about focusing his attention to border relations.
