SoCal Edison Hauling Used San Onofre Generator To Utah

Crews have begun moving a used generator from Southern California's San Onofre nuclear power plant to a disposal site in Utah.

Southern California Edison officials said a truck began Sunday night carrying the steam generator through San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties before entering Nevada and Utah.

The utility said the more than 700,000-pound generator contains lows levels of radiation, but that it shouldn't pose any harm to the public.
