Free meals for kids will be provided at more than 200 locations across San Diego County this summer, the San Diego Hunger Coalition announced Tuesday.
Parents may obtain free breakfasts and lunches for their children under 19 years old without having to fill out paperwork or completing a registration process.
Further details may be obtained by calling 211 or online at www.fns.usda.gov/summerfoodrocks by entering an address or zip code.
Some program sites in San Diego County will open as early as June 13. Dates of operation vary by location.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program was established to help the 59 percent of students who benefit from free or reduced- price lunches at school, continue to have the access to nutrition that they otherwise would not have.
