A swarm of earthquakes shook Imperial County on Saturday morning, the largest of which was a magnitude 5.3 reported near El Centro, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
That quake struck around 10:55 a.m and was centered about 6 miles northwest of Calipatria in Imperial County, about 24 miles north, northwest of El Centro.
The temblor was widely felt in San Diego County. The National Weather Service tweeted that it shook Rancho Bernardo. "Felt like a quick jolt," the NWS said.

"Quakes in the Imperial Valley often come in swarms. Which continue until they stop," retired USGS seismologist Lucy Jones said in a tweet.
As of noon, quakes were continuing in the Calipatria area, with the latest being a 3.0-magnitude quake reported around 11:49 a.m., according to the USGS.
No injuries or structural damage were immediately reported.
