The possibly terrorism-related crash of an Egyptian airliner over the Mediterranean Sea has led to no immediate security changes at Lindbergh Field, a representative of the airport said Thursday.
"Safety and security are the airport's top priority, but at this point we haven't received any directive (from the Transportation Security Administration) to change our security measures," said Rebecca Bloomfield, a public information officer for San Diego International Airport.
EgyptAir Flight 804 was carrying 56 passengers, seven crew members and three security personnel to Cairo from Paris when it disappeared from radar Thursday. Greek air-traffic controllers had tried to reach the pilots several minutes before the jet disappeared but got no response, according to news reports.
