The policies set guidelines on permitting federal authorities to enter county facilities, and address people impersonating federal officers.

A 25-year-old La Mesa police officer and a driver were killed when they were struck by an oncoming vehicle while the officer was assisting two motorists involved in a traffic collision on the freeway, it was announced Tuesday.

The Due Process and Safety Ordinance will set "clear legal boundaries that protect residents, workers, and visitors regardless of immigration status, gender identity, disability, or healthcare decisions," according to a staff document from Councilman Sean Elo-Rivera's office.

The announcement comes as the club, which joined the National Women's Soccer League four years ago, clinched a 2025 NWSL playoff berth.

The announcement comes after voters narrowly passed Measure B in 2022, which helped repeal "The People's Ordinance" trash collection model and allowed the city to charge a monthly fee for solid trash pickup.
