Ricardo Darin stars in El Aura, part of MACSD's Cinema Tu Idioma (IFC)
This week the Media Art Center San Diego's monthly Spanish language film series Cinema Tu Idioma presents El Aura (opening Oct. 19 at Ultrastar Mission Valley Theaters in Hazard Center). The film plays in conjunction with Drama/Mex , a film from Mexico executive produced by Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.
El Aura played at the San Diego Latino Film Festival earlier this year and I was disappointed that I had missed it. I have to admit, I was more than intrigued by a film featuring an epileptic taxidermist with a photographic memory who fancies that he can commit the perfect crime. Then, factor in that it boasts the same director and star of Argentina's clever con game Nine Queens, and you have something that's quite tempting indeed.
