Heroes

Heroes is a show born of Comic-Con. The first showing of the pilot was 3 years ago at con. It was a rough cut with a couple of different storylines and temporary music. The crowd went crazy for it. If you are not familiar with the show, It follows a number of people as they discover that they have special powers. Most of them also discover that their powers are inherited. The previous generation banded together to save the world & hellip; but their plan and their members went astray. This year, Heroes reaffirmed how important con is to them. Their panel included the creator, Tim Kring (Crossing Jordan), executive producer Jeph Loeb (Lost, Smallville), and the entire ensemble cast.

They also showed the entire first episode & ldquo;Second Coming & rdquo; of the upcoming season 3, Villains. The episode takes things in a darker direction. I liked the first season a lot. The second season didn't really seem to gel. The writers strike could be to blame, but it seems to me that Heroes is a show that plays to the whims of the network and the market. Its long term story and tone seem to change and reset regularly. They show us things happening & hellip; and through the magic of time-travel undo them. Two characters return from the dead in the opener. It feels a lot like daytime soap opera, with super powers. By comparison, Lost seems to set it's own rules. They negotiated an end to the show and 16 episode seasons & hellip; They seem to have rewritten the rules. Heroes is happy to follow the rules. Jeph Loeb said at the opening of the panel that Heroes is seen in 250+ markets by 75 million people. Wow! The rules are working for Heroes. With all that said, I recommend the show. It is a fun ride.
Season 3 will begin in September.
