San Diego-Based Sailor Missing At Sea

A sailor aboard a San Diego-based guided-missile destroyer was reported missing at sea today in the Gulf of Oman.
After the sailor failed to report for watch aboard the USS Halsey, helicopters and airplanes conducted a search, according to the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/5th Fleet.
The sailor's name was not released.
The Halsey is named after World War II Adm. William F. "Bull" Halsey, and is part of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln Strike Group.
