Solace For Adele's Cancellation

Grammy-winning British singer Adele had to cancel her show at Humphrey's By the Bay (June8) due to an ongoing bout with laryngitis.

She's canceled the rest of her North American tour (9 remaining dates) under doctor's orders. According to a Columbia Records press release, "while resting in Los Angeles, Adele met with an Otolaryngology specialist who determined it was imperative that she take the next few weeks to recover with absolute voice rest." Otolaryngology? Who knew?

Adele released a statement in the same press release:

"I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele"

In an attempt to provide some solace, here's Adele's amazing Tiny Desk Concert at NPR.

Girl can sing, like seriously. We all know this, but in a stripped-down format like this, her voice just stuns. Let's hope some rest does the trick.

In other news, she has great make-up skillz and a lovely 60s bouffant in this video.
