Joanne Faryon will interview Young on Wednesday's show.

Evening Edition airs weekdays at 5 PM and 6:30 PM on KPBS TV.

In Oakland, there's a general strike underway in support of that city's Occupy movement. And in Los Angeles, the city council has passed a resolution in support of the Occupy movement.

But here in San Diego, protesters are still struggling to get the attention of city leaders, including San Diego city council president Tony Young.

We speak with Young about his view on the Occupy movement and its local participants.
