San Diego New Central Library

During last night's State of the City Address, San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders singled out the $185-million downtown central library project as one of the city's success stories.

Just last month, though, there were doubts about whether the fundraising deadline would be met. Now apparently it has been met, but who is writing the check? We'll talk to the chair of the San Diego Library Foundation.

Can't wait for this to open.

Mr. Sanders, this is a feather in your cap, thanks for standing by this project and helping get it off the ground.

I bet on opening day when all the city politicos go to the new structure to celebrate the opening, Dirty Carl DeMaio will be twirling around, shaking hands, and popping champagne.

It's Dirty Carl's style. He takes credit for things he didn't do.

He spent months of fear-mongering telling tax payers we would need to finish paying for this.

Dirty Carl was wrong, his fear mongering completely unfounded, so my advice to Dirty Carl: **keep out of our new library!!"
