CROSSING SOUTH is a travel show which explores Tijuana and Northern Baja. Bilingual travel companion and host, Jorge Meraz, takes the audience on a journey and demystifies the area.
Get to know the people, vernacular, foods, customs and places frequented by the locals. To find these travel treasures, Jorge goes further than the tourist traps. There’s a lot to learn and fun to have right next door by "Crossing South."
In this episode, Jorge hangs out with the Tijuana Opera and listens in as the company rehearses for their next show. Then he cooks and samples food from Mujeres Divinas Restaurant.
Next Jorge visits the Caliente Racetrack and zoo and gets a rare chance to hold a baby tiger. After the tigers, Jorge explores the hands-on science museum called El Trompo. Lastly, Jorge enjoys a meal at a hole in the wall burrito joint that makes great meals for a small price.
