Camp Pendleton spokesman 1st Lt. Ryan Welsh told the U-T San Diego base law enforcement was called to the golf course at 9:30 this morning...
...where a civilian was threatening to kill themselves. The civilian, whose identity and gender have not been released, then shot themselves in the head.
The person was pronounced dead at 10:35 this morning.
Camp Pendleton Scout posted on Facebook that Marine Memorial Golf Course and its facilities would be closed until further notice...
...Due to an incident at the Marine Memorial Golf Course that required a law enforcement & emergency medical personnel response.
According to the Marine Memorial Golf Course website, the course is available for use by both military personnel and civilians.
