In the wake of allegations of sexual misconduct against San Diego Mayor Bob Filner and the spotlight on sexual harassment, a series of workshops are planned to look at the bigger issue of violence against women.

It's being organized by the group Women Occupy San Diego. The group is partnering with other women's organizations to address issues ranging from domestic violence and stalking to trafficking and sexual harassment.

The No More Excuses. Stop It Now! campaign launches this weekend.

After listening to radio interview, why are the offenses not aboaolutely associated to a violent offense? Police officers can arrest citizens for assault (a violent criminal offense) for simply being touched without permission. Why are women city workers not given the same, unquestioned, right to file a violent charge offense?
