Officials say gates at Naval Base San Diego have been reopened after a brief lockdown Friday morning.
Just before 11 a.m., all vehicles and foot traffic to and from the base were being turned around, and base personnel were told to find a secure place as security conducted a sweep of the installation for a white SUV.
Details about the search were not immediately disclosed, but officials said base gates have been reopened.

Our military should have lock down when rapes occur. Lt General Craig Franklin reversed a guilty verdict rendered by a panel of five ranking officials who found the accused guilty of raping a female soldier in Afghanistan. Military law allows a base commander to reverse any ruling he/she deems fit.
Military Justice?
This is not a topic that should take second to others. This sort of thing has been going on in the military for years. General Franklin was only concerned about protecting the image of the military versus finding justice for the rape victim.
