Designed to accommodate thousands of daily visitors, the Copley Visitor Center is open daily from 10 until 5 pm, with free guided tours daily at 1:30. From an elevated visitor promenade, visitors can watch athletes in training, practicing the Olympic ideals of determination and perseverance. With the Otay Mountains for a backdrop, rowers and kayakers train on a 3,000-meter rowing course on the Lower Otay Lake. The 50-lane archery complex is the largest outdoor archery range in North America and the four grass soccer fields have been the site of competition and clinics for local youth. The 400-meter, eight-lane running track with a 12-lane, 100-meter-straight-away and a separate six-acre throwing area for field events enables both Olympic and Paralympic athletes to achieve competitive excellence—and in doing so, inspire all Americans.
