Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon met today in the Bay Area. The two toured a San Jose company and pledged to work together on the issue of global warming. The firm called “Echelon” creates devices that monitor electricity usage in machines.

Schwarzenegger noted the technology is being used around the world.

Schwarzenegger : These innovations will help us address the challenges posed by countries like India and China. They are growing their economies at a rapid rate, at a staggering rate. The problem is they are also growing their greenhouse gas emissions at a staggering rate.

Schwarzenegger praised the Secretary General for placing emphasis on the need to address climate change.
