Shine a Light
The usual suspects getting a little older, Shine a Light (Paramount Classics)
At the beginning of his career, Martin Scorsese served as an editor on the epic rock doc Woodstock . Since then he has directed two prominent music documentaries ( The Last Waltz, No Direction Home ) and produced another ( Lightening in a Bottle ). The Rolling Stones have been the subject of multiple portraits (the better ones being Sympathy for the Devil, Gimme Shelter, Cocksucker Blues ). Now the Stones and Scorsese team up for Shine a Light (opening at Edwards Mira Mesa Cinema's IMAX screen and additional San Diego area theaters), a concert film recorded in 2006 at Gotham's Beacon Theater. Mick and the boys serve as producer with Scorsese as their hired gun.
