Did you feel it? 2.9 magnitude earthquake hits near Ocotillo Wells

A 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck eastern San Diego County on Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck shortly before noon about 15 miles (25 kilometers) southwest of Ocotillo Wells and about 7 miles (12 kilometers) away from Julian.

USGS said the tremblor had a depth of about 6 miles (9.9 kilometers).

People reported feeling weak to light shaking as far west as Oceanside and as far south as El Cajon, according to the USGS Did You Feel It? Map

There were no immediate reports of damage.
