Last night Austin's Fantastic Fest audiences were treated to a trailer for Don Coscarelli's latest film, "John Dies at the End," based on David Wong's novel. This is his first new work since his 2005 "Masters of Horror" episode and exciting news for his fans. Here's the trailer.
Horror fans have been enamored with director Don Coscarelli since he gave us The Tall Man and that crazy bladed ball in 1979's "Phantasm." Then he cemented that relationship with the brilliant "Bubba Ho-Tep" featuring Bruce Campbell as an aged Elvis Presley. But Coscarelli has been creatively silent for too many years so the arrival of the trailer for "John Dies at the End" is a real treat. Of course it also made me jealous of all those people at Fantastic Fest enjoying many more treats than just this.
Here's the tantalizing trailer.
