This satellite map shows a Pacific storm moving into San Diego County at 6 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013.

A cold low pressure system moved into San Diego County overnight, bringing light rain and gusty winds. The National Weather Service expected the system to intensify throughout the day.

The National Weather service issued a wind advisory for the deserts and a winter storm warning for the mountains through 3 a.m. Saturday. A coastal flood advisory was scheduled until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Sustained winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour were expected, according to NWS.

"The winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles,'' according to an NWS advisory. "Watch for broken tree limbs and downed power lines.''

Snow levels in the mountains are expected to drop to 3,000 feet Friday afternoon and to 2,500 feet overnight. Snow accumulation could reach 10 inches at the highest peaks.

Rainfall totals were expected to be a half-inch along the coastal and valley areas, and up to an inch in the mountains.
