KPBS Reporter Tom Fudge has more.
The nine additional cases of swine flu in San Diego bring the total of confirmed cases to 24. In addition to that, there are 23 probable cases of swine flu in the county. San Diego County health officer Wilma Wooten today announced some good news for San Diego State. A campus child care center, that was closed for having several suspected cases of swine flu, may now be able to reopen.
"The decision to reopen is left with the administration," she says. "But our investigation on the cases that we collected specimins on yesterday were negative."
There is one confirmed case of swine flu on the San Diego State campus that's unrelated to the child care center. UCSD has no cases either confirmed or suspected, and the University of San Diego had a suspected case last week which turned out to be negative. Tom Fudge, KPBS news.
