Constitutional Crisis Looms in Lebanon

Lawmakers say bargaining has begun in earnest over who will lead the embattled country of Lebanon, with the clock ticking toward a constitutional crisis if the U.S.-backed majority and the Syrian-supported opposition can't agree on a consensus candidate.

A twice-delayed parliamentary vote is set for Nov. 12, but the real deadline may be two weeks later, when the term of pro-Syrian president Emile Lahoud expires.
