New California Poll Shows 3 Democrats In Dead Heat In Presidential Primary
As U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren gets ready to hold her first campaign event in San Diego on Thursday, a new poll of registered Democrats and Independent voters in California has good news for the presidential candidate.
The poll, from the Public Policy Institute of California, shows Warren has the support of 23% of likely voters, Joe Biden has 22% and Bernie Sanders has 21%. But in reality, it's a toss-up at this point as the poll has a sampling error of between 3.2 - 4.2%.
All the other candidates are stuck in single digits, including California Senator Kamala Harris, who garnered support from just 8% of likely voters.
The poll also looked at other issues and found that less than half, 46% of registered voters, approve of the state's overall direction.
Mark Baldassare, president and CEO of the PPIC, joined Midday Edition on Thursday to discuss the results of the poll.
