California’s largest state park, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, is just a two-hour drive from the city of San Diego.
The park spreads from San Diego County and into Riverside and Imperial counties. Once there, visitors are often surprised to see the variety of plants and animals that thrive in the park’s desert setting.
A new book celebrates the unique look and landscape of the park. It’s called “A Natural History of the Anza-Borrego Region: Then and Now."
Authors Mike Wells and Marie Simovich joined Midday Edition to give us a glimpse into the inner workings of the Anza-Borrego park.
They'll be speaking about the book on Friday at the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park Visitor Center.
