Author Sonia Nazario Discusses Writing About Immigration, 'American Dirt'

Sonia Nazario is a Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist who has documented the plight of unaccompanied minors making their way to the U.S.

She's best known for her book "Enrique's Journey," which was the first selection of KPBS' One Book One San Diego program. On Tuesday, she'll bet the featured author at the 25th annual Writer's Symposium by The Sea at Point Loma Nazarene University.

Nazario joined Midday Edition on Tuesday to talk about her work, why "Enrique's Journey" is more relevant today than ever before, and the and the recent controversy over the immigration novel "American Dirt."

Nazario will be speaking Tuesday at the 25th annual Writer's Symposium by the Sea at Point Loma Nazarene University.
