Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster, and the rest of the Sesame Street gang are working to help the children of deployed military parents have sunny days and keep the clouds away. The Sesame Workshop - the nonprofit behind Sesame Street - has teamed up with the USO to help military children cope with their parents' deployments with a series of videos, and even live touring shows.
The Sesame Street/USO Experience kicked off this spring, and the show is geared exclusively for military families. Along with Sesame Street favorites Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Grover is the new character of Katie (not to be confused with Katy Perry, who is not apparently not allowed on Sesame Street). Katie is a military child/Muppet whose family is moving to a new base and a new place.
The show travels all over the world, and is free to attend. Click here for a schedule of tour dates.
