Home Post has brought you many stories about the heartwarming trend of troops bonding with stray dogs while deployed in Afghanistan. In many cases, these servicemembers become so attached that they cut through massive red tape to adopt the dogs and bring them back to the United States.
Cpl. Ward Van Alstine is one of those servicemembers. The Camp Pendleton Marine reunited on Thanksgiving with Chloe, the stray dog who became his best friend while he was stationed in Afghanistan.
