Camp Pendleton Hospital
Officials at Camp Pendleton are testing out new traffic patterns today and Friday, to help the construction crew building the base's new hospital.
The traffic patterns test is a way to help the crew figure out the best way to avoid traffic headaches when they begin construction on the road nearest the new hospital at the end of August, according to Camp Pendleton public affairs:
The project will reconstruct the four lanes of Vandergrift Boulevard between the traffic lights of Wire Mountain Road and the Marine Corps Exchange. This will also provide an additional deceleration lane for northbound traffic to enter the hospital by the means of a new traffic light without creating congestion.
Road construction is expect to take three months to complete.
According to San Diego television station 10News, the hospital project is more than half-way to completion and still two months ahead of schedule. I've posted a video at the top of this story about what the hospital will be like when it's up and running.
